City Spotlight: Cleveland, OH

During the summer months, PorchLight Rental would like to feature a city twice a month in its City Spotlight series. As we are based in Ohio, we feel the best way to launch this is to start with Cleveland!

With Cleveland improving left and right, it can feel like a new place to visit even for someone who has been there before. Below you will find some great places to see you may have heard of as well as some you haven’t.

West Side Market – This market has been open since 1912. By 2008, The West Side Market was named one of the “10 Great Public Places in America” by the American Planning Association. With many vendors to explore inside, the market place is a great way to spend your morning. Just make a note that it’s only open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – For the rock and roll fan, or anyone interested in the history of music, this is a great place to visit. With dozens of different exhibits including the current Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Exhibit, Right Here, Right Now, The Beatles, The Roots of Rock and Roll and Cleveland Rocks, you will need at least a couple of hours to explore.

The Christmas Story House – In 1983, A Christmas Story premiered and captured the hearts and laughter of hundreds. Now, the house that was used for filming has been restored to its glory. Fans new and old can visit the house and if you’re lucky, meet one or two of the actors from the movie!

Historic Little Italy of Cleveland – Known for its art galleries and phenomenal Italian cuisine, Little Italy of Cleveland is a great place for locals and visitors to get a taste of Italy without leaving the country. There is plenty of walking and looking around to do in the afternoon when you and your family have the time spend.

Playhouse Square – Aside from New York City, Playhouse Square is the country’s largest performing arts center. With thousands of events every year, this non-profit center engages fans of the theatre from all over the world. Catch a play and grab a bite to eat before or after at one of the many up and coming restaurants.
