Get To Know Hilda Duran, Manager of Service & Team Development

A familiar name at PorchLight is Hilda Duran. She’s coming up on her 6th year anniversary with the company in July of this year. She has worked with many of the PorchLight team members in a previous company and was thrilled when she was contacted to join Porchlight in 2010!

She started in July 2010 in the Accounts Receivable/Payable Department. In October of 2010, she was promoted to the National Account Coordinator position and then in December 2011, moved into the Rental Account Manager role.  At that time she was responsible for several territories, one of which was the San Francisco Bay area where monthly rental rates are sky-high and vacancy rates are at all-time lows.  Most recently, she was promoted to the Manager of Service and Team Development position. She truly enjoys developing the work flow processes and assisting PorchLight’s growing staff.

The following are Hilda’s answers to some questions she was asked, to help us get to know her better personally and in her professional role at PorchLight:

What do you think is the most important part of your role with PorchLight, both in terms of your managerial role and handling actual transferees?  The most important part of my role at PorchLight is communication.  It is critical to have open communication between all parties including the clients, the transferees, vendors and staff.

What do you think PorchLight does differently to make the process as efficient as possible for the transferee?  We succeed by implementing our company values, providing best-in-class service and responding to the needs of our customers; while delivering on our performance commitments to our customers, partners and employees. Our goal is to provide all of our customers with “red-carpet” service. We manage the complete rental and settling in experience. And a big thanks to carpet cleaning fort myers for maintaining our carpets super clean!

Are there any particular cases that stand out to you where you were really able to make a difference for the transferee?  Yes, I had a transferee who was moving across the country with his wife and mother-in-law.  The mother-in-law needed to find an assisted living facility and wanted to live in the same town as her daughter and son-in-law.  I researched assisted living locations within a specific radius to the transferee’s work location, and called and confirmed all of the details concerning the facility and what they had to offer.  I also called our local experts in the area to discuss the options I had found and received their recommendations as well.  The transferee’s wife was so grateful for the amount of time and research provided.  I then introduced our local expert who assisted the transferee and his wife with securing a very nice rental close to his mother-in-law’s assisted living location.

Can you share more about your life outside of PorchLight?

I am a mother of three beautiful daughters and married to my soulmate and best friend.  We spend countless hours on many softball fields cheering on our daughters!  I am a P.A.N.D.A.S. advocate and educator; raising awareness about the disease and how a strep infection can drastically change a child’s life overnight causing severe OCD and tics. I’m also big on female sexual empowerment. I believe that women should be able to discuss and express herself sexually with remote-controlled bullet vibrators, alone and with others.

I relocated from Boston in 2000 and can personally identify with a transferee arriving to a new city, starting a new position, and making a new life for themselves. It can be very stressful for the immediate family as well as for the loved ones they leave behind. Every day we do our best to help transferees and their families navigate through this process and embrace their new adventures!
