Information We Collect
PorchLight does not collect personally identifiable information about individuals except when such individuals provide such information on a voluntary basis. For example, an Online Needs Assessment requires the collection of personal data so we are able to respond promptly and correctly to the service request.
We do collect personally identifiable information you knowingly and voluntarily provide when you use a PorchLight website such as name, email address, phone number, etc. PorchLight uses this information for the purposes for which you provide it. This may include client services, email marketing and corporate communications, customer service and feedback, or providing requested information and services.
Providing Visitors with Anonymous Access
Visitors can access our website home page and browse our website without disclosing personal data. We do not collect any personal data from individuals who visit our website to learn more about our business. We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records, public bodies or private organizations.
Passive Collection of Information
As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically. This information may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site.
Social Media Widgets
Our website includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button, and Widgets, such as the Share This button or interactive mini-programs that run on our website. These Features may collect your Internet protocol address, which page you are visiting on our website, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy statement of the company providing it.
Sharing with Third Parties
We may share your information with third-party business partners, for instance, for the purpose of enhancing our products and services or so that they can provide services directly to you. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide the authorized services.
These services may include:
- Rental assistance services
- Real estate services
- Destination services

User Access and Choice
Upon request PorchLight will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information by unsubscribing or contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe. In certain circumstances we may need to retain your personal information in order to continue providing services. If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. You may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails, or you can contact us at email@example.com.
Opt-out Preferences for InsideTRAK®
Users of the PorchLight’s InsideTRAK®opt-in to permit PorchLight making certain information available to (i) their employer, or other third party that is sponsoring their use of the System, and (ii) service providers that provide services related to relocation, for the purpose of providing those relocation services.
System users may at any time also opt-out of receiving information from PorchLight, or from PorchLight making your information accessible through the System. If you wish to “opt-out” please email GetTheInsideTRAK@porchlightrental.com.
PorchLight collects information under the direction of its Clients, and has no direct relationship with the individuals (the “Relocating Employee”) whose personal data it processes. If you are a Relocating Employee of one of our Clients and would no longer like communication provided by your Employer that use our service, please contact Employer that you interact with directly. We may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the service agreements with our Clients.
An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to the PorchLight’s Success Manager or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If requested to remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
We will retain personal data we process on behalf of our Clients for as long as needed to provide services to our Client. PorchLight will retain this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
For EU Individuals: Your Rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Under Applicable Data Protection Law, you may have certain rights regarding the personal data we maintain about you. We also offer you certain choices about what personal data we collect from you, how we use that personal data, and how we communicate with you.
You can choose not to provide personal data to us. You also may refrain from submitting personal data directly to us. However, if you do not provide Your Data when requested, or if you exercise your rights you and/or your family may not be able to benefit from the Services (as applicable), and we may not be able to provide you with information about our products, services and promotions.
To the extent provided by Applicable Data Protection Law, you may withdraw any consent you previously provided to us, or object at any time to the processing of Your Data. We will apply your preferences going forward. In some circumstances, withdrawing your consent to our use or disclosure of Your Data will mean that you cannot take advantage of certain Services.
In addition, you may have the right to: obtain confirmation that we hold personal data about you, request access to and receive information about the personal data we maintain about you, receive copies of the personal data we maintain about you, update and correct inaccuracies in your personal data, object to the processing of your personal data, and have the personal data blocked, anonymized or deleted, as appropriate. The right to access personal data may be limited in some circumstances by local law requirements including Applicable Data Protection Law. You have the right to ask us not to process Your Data for marketing purposes. We will inform you (before collecting Your Data) and obtain your prior consent where required by the Applicable Data Protection Law if we intend to use Your Data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose Your Data to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by advising us of your preferences before we collect Your Data, including on the form that is used to collect Your Data. The rights above are likely to apply to you if you are based in Europe.
If you provide us with any information or material relating to another individual, you should make sure that the sharing with us and our further use as described to you from time to time is in line with applicable laws, so for example you should duly inform that individual on the processing of her/his personal data and obtain her/his consent, as may be necessary under Applicable Data Protection Laws.
EU & Swiss Individuals: Privacy Shield Notice for Personal Data Transfers to the US
The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over PorchLight’s compliance with the Privacy Shield.
Pursuant to the Privacy Shield Frameworks, PorchLight makes the following notifications to EU and Swiss individuals whose data has been transferred into the US:
- PorchLight will only share data in line with the purposes for which that information was originally supplied. We do not share, sell or rent personal data for any other purposes. If this practice should change in the future, we will update this policy to provide individuals with appropriate choice prior to their data being released.
- We are potentially liable in cases of onward transfers to third parties unless we can prove we were not a party to the events giving rise to the damages.
- In certain situations, PorchLight may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
- PorchLight acknowledges the right of EU and/or Swiss individuals to access their data. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to the PorchLight’s Success Manager or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Note that if we are handling your data at the direction of an employer, we may not have permission to provide you with that access. In this case you should contact that employer directly.
