- Millennials are the most willing to relocate. They are young without many obligations to stay in one place. Their job is one of the most important aspects of their life. They have the desire to see as much of the world as possible while they can. A job that has the option to relocate may be what they need. This can be an advantage to both the company, and the employee. For the company that wants to expand, there are plenty of Millennials willing to do so. For the Millennial, being willing to relocate gives them an edge over other generations which need to stay in the same area for longer periods of time.
- Work can be as important as play. Their careers are the most important focus, but they also want to be relocated somewhere they will feel at home. They want to socialize and feel like where they work is a place they can be comfortable. Not to say their jobs aren’t their primary interest, but having people around them who they can relate to, will help in any relocation decision.
- They need assistance in area acclimation. Almost every Millennial would rather work with a local market expert to find their new home. Some desire that their family and friends give some input in the process. However, many wish to work with someone who intimately knows the area and the housing market. While so many rely on their smartphones and computers to search for what they’re looking for, Millennials would still be more comfortable having a hands-on experience with a professional. An area acclimation tour on top of a home finding trip may be what they need. They will have plenty of questions as to where they can dine, shop, socialize and begin to settle into their new environments.
